Renew your spirit in this sacred land to deepen your connection to your true essence, intuition, and inspiration for life.
I am so beyond excited for a life-changing week in the jungle. If you know you’re ready to step into your healthiest, most energized, and true self, Restore and Renew is waiting for you. Vamos a Costa Rica!
LOCATION: uvita, costa Rica
Our sanctuary retreat location is tucked away in the lush mountain jungle of Uvita, with hiking trails and waterfalls right on the property. Practice yoga and fall asleep to the ambiance of the jungle- the IRL version of nature sounds on Spotify (but way better).
Uvita has the best of both worlds - jungle, mountains, and ocean. We’ll beach it up at Parque Nacional Marino Ballena (Whale Tale Beach) and hike the famous Nauyaca waterfalls for a swim.
This little sliver of Costa Rica has a special place in my heart. I was so lucky to call this land home for a few months in 2024 and will be returning for a few more in 2025! I’m so excited to share this incredible part of the world. Costa Rica is a true energy vortex and I can’t think of a better spot to spend this transformative week.

This isn’t just a retreat—it’s a homecoming.
Your physical health and body are a portal to the depths of your heart and soul. When you speak the language of your body and stop living in your head, you access a deeper sense of touch with your intuition. You’ll return home from this retreat restored and with a stacked new set of tools to stay online with your body, regulated in your nervous system, and lead a connected, energized, and embodied life.
Meet your retreat host
Who I am: Hi, I’m Shelagh! I’m a holistic registered dietitian, somatic nutritionist, trauma-informed yoga teacher, and writer. I’m also a huge travel lover and have spent the last 2 years exploring the world as a digital nomad. Retreats allow me to integrate two of my passions, wellness and travel.
What I do: I combine nutrition counseling and health coaching with yoga, energetics, and other body-based somatic practices to provide women with the tools to regulate their nervous systems, balance their hormones, heal their relationships with food, and connect to their bodies. I have worked in the wellness space for the last 10 years, teaching individuals how to live an embodied life and connect to their authenticity and intuition through nutrition, movement, and mindfulness. My own experience with PCOS and disordered eating has led me down an incredibly fulfilling path in guiding others on their own health + spiritual journeys.
Some fun stuff:
Traveling the world was always my dream as a kid and I even had an “around-the-world fund”. I had my mom empty the account when I first went nomadic- I had a whopping $63 in there.
I was born and raised in the Greater Boston area and have 3 siblings- an older brother, an older sister, and a younger brother. We are all close in age and their names are just as Irish as mine.
I’m a Manifesting Generator, Enneagram 2w3, Taurus sun, Capricorn moon, and Virgo rising. The triple-earth-sign-energy definitely oozes out of me.
I am a huuuge water baby and you bet I’ll be right there with you diving into those cascadas on the retreat. I grew up as a swimmer and feel very at home in the water.

FAQs
What if I have food allergies or restrictions?
Our retreat chef can accommodate most allergies and intolerances. There will be an opportunity to submit any dietary needs prior to the retreat, but please also let Shelagh know upon registration.
What should I pack?
A packing list will be sent out 1-2 months before the retreat. We got you covered!
WHAT TYPE OF CURRENCY SHOULD I BRING?
Costa Rica uses Colones for their currency, but you can use USD most places. Almost everything is included in the retreat investment, but cash could be helpful to have on hand for tipping or if you want to buy anything from beach vendors, etc.
Is alcohol included?
The retreat center is a dry campus, so there are no alcoholic beverages on site.
what is required for travel?
All international retreaters will need a valid passport. There are no Visa requirements for US citizens to enter Costa Rica, but you may need to show an exit ticket out of the country when going through customs upon your arrival. If you are traveling from another country outside of the US, please check the visa requirements for your country.
what airport should I fly into?
San Jose Airport (SJO). We will organize airport pickup and transfer to the retreat center together.
where is the nearest store?
While the retreat center is tucked away in the jungle, we’ll be in the town of Uvita with plenty of stores, restaurants, pharmacies, etc.
craving some irl community and connection?
I have tried for years to find the words for what retreats have done for my life and still have not been able to do it justice. I’ve also tried to explain the magic of Costa Rica, and have found that, too, goes beyond words. Whether this is your first retreat or your twentieth, you’re a seasoned yogi or a newbie, this will be a magical and powerful week. See you in the jungle!
